Executive Team

Pierre Jean Messier
President & CEO
Mr. Messier is the founder of Triosyn and the original inventor of the Company’s technology platform. He has worked as a researcher and product development specialist in the bio-medical, microbiology and hemo-dialysis field for the last 26 years with a focus on iodinated resin technology since 1989. Before founding the Company, Mr. Messier also worked for Bio-Microencapsulation Technology, Inc. (during which he supported the technology transfer to National Medical Care), where he developed and oversaw production of specialized hemo-perfusion filters and devices. Mr. Messier was a lecturer at McGill University in post-graduate biotechnology studies and is the holder of more than 120 patents (issued and pending). With a career focused on innovation in science, Mr. Messier has been a scientific Principal Investigator for Departments of Governments of Canada and the United States of America since 1994 and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA).

JF LaRue
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. LaRue oversees the Company’s financial operations. Mr. LaRue is a founder of TrioMed Innovations Corp. and prior to July 2011, occupied the same position with SafeLife Corp. in San Diego, CA. Prior to joining SafeLife in 2006, Mr. LaRue worked for Triosyn Corp. Mr. LaRue was a partner at Deloitte & Touche, Montreal. In conjunction with the CEO, J-F is also responsible for growing the top and bottom lines and increasing shareholder value and is a key player in all strategic and operational decision-making. As well for being responsible for the usual functions related to his position as CFO, J-F also oversees the Government Contracting and Human Resources Departments.

Jun Akimoto
Vice President International Sales
Mr. Akimoto has twenty-five (25) years’ experience in marketing and sales in many countries including Asia, Europe and North America. After graduating with a Bs. Mathematics degree, he joined the Japan International Cooperation Agency and was a mathematics teacher in Ghana West Africa. Mr. Akimoto worked for the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was also assign to the Japanese Embassy in Thailand. After leaving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he joined Yamada International Corp., US subsidiary of a large Japanese trading company and was a senior executive for many years. Mr. Akimoto has been part of the TrioMed team for many years and is responsible for international sales.

Richard LaRue
General Counsel
Richard LaRue is the General Counsel for TrioMed Innovations (Canada) Inc. and its affiliates. Prior thereto, Richard was General Counsel for Triosyn Corp. group of companies. Richard is a graduate of Laval University in Business Administration (Finance) and Law; a Member of the Quebec Bar (1983); an Associate Member of the Brussels Bar (1994); a Member of the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec; a Member of the Canadian Bar Association; a member of the International Bar Association; an Associate Member of the American Bar Association; and a Member of the Association of Corporate Counsel of America (Northeast Chapter). Richard LaRue began his practice with Stikeman Elliott LLP, Montreal (1982-1991) and also practiced with Lafleur Brown DeGrandpré (now Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP) out of their Brussels offices (1991-1997). Richard is a Fellow in International Practice of the International Bar Association (in conjunction with the College of Law – England and Wales) and also consults for the European Law firm of DBB Law in Brussels, Belgium.

Steve Madey
VP of Governmental Affairs
Steve Madey has substantial expertise in technical, legislative, and policy development issues covering a wide range of research and development and acquisition areas. His twenty-nine years of government service include six years staff experience in the U.S. Senate, working on the personal staff of Senator Malcolm Wallop of Wyoming for one year as a LEGIS fellow, and five years as a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Armed Services Committee. His military and Senate staff experiences combined provide a thorough grounding in the legislative process and acquisition and research and development issues.

Working as the lead Professional Staff Member for the Air Land Subcommittee, Steve oversaw the authorization of more than $23 Billion in procurement and research and development annually. As the primary advisor for the Committee on these issues, he gained the respect and confidence of Members, both on the Committee and throughout the Senate.

Steve earned a B.S. from the U.S. Naval Academy and holds masters degrees in International Relations from Salve Regina College, Rhode Island, and in Public Administration from Harvard University. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School, and the Naval War College and is a member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots (SETP).
